This is a short quiz I made on PowerPoint as a fun plenary or starter activity for unit 3 of AQA A Level Business Studies. It can be done in teams or individually and is a great alternative to Kahoot. The quiz includes 13 questions (20 maximum points) and answers, covering a range of topics from unit 3. This worksheet is perfect as a class activity or as homework. It has 2 sections (one with 7 questions and one with 6 questions) that students have to read through and complete. It is written in an exam style with scenarios and tables. The questions cover the following: Calculating gross and net profit, revenue, gross profit margins, break-even and fixed costs Drawing a break-even chart A definition Analysis questions I created this as GCSE exam revision, but it would be very useful to be used whilst initially teaching this topic too. This resource was made for students as a revision checklist. It includes all 10 units and every topic from the syllabus, reflecting the new changes for the 2024 exams. It is represented as a table with 5 columns for the students to rate their confidence for each topic, from “not at all confident” to “very confident”. This will show them what to focus their revision on. There are also lines for notes at the end. In total, there are 17 pages in this resource. It does not include any revision notes, it is a guide for students to take responsibility for their learning and identify what they need support with or revision for. I’d recommend using in class as a regular checklist throughout the school year, perhaps after any recap lessons or revision reminders. It’s never to early to start revising! Students should then continue filling it in themselves and take ownership of it, ensuring they turn as many of the frowns into smiles as they can. Alternatively, this can be used as a checklist for teachers to help them ensure they have covered everything. Let’s face it, we’re not experts at everything, so teachers can also use it to see what areas they need to brush up on. The PowerPoint is 43 slides in total and can be used for other business courses, such as GCSE or another exam board. I created it as a nice introduction and welcome to Business Studies so I hope it is useful for you and your students enjoy it! I have used all of the resources I am selling, so they are tried and tested.

Please note, this resource has been updated (January 2024). Assessment objectives and answer techniques have now been added. This is a PowerPoint presentation I put together with the key information about the 3 papers students do for A-level Business Studies with AQA. This includes a BONUS PowerPoint with top tips for the students! It has a starter activity, then dives straight into how to answer the 4 main command words (analyse, describe, evaluate and explain) and what to expect for each paper (the weight, total marks, structure etc). There are links to the AQA past papers referenced in the Notes section on the slides. I have found it is better to show the students examples as opposed to just talking about the papers, so some slides have very few words on them. The next slides focus on how to answer the Analyse and Evaluate questions, which are the big markers (9-25 marks). There is an example and practice question for each, which they should practice answering in class, and answer structures they should use. I have then included indicative content the marker will be looking for in the answers and the mark schemes. Ideally, they should self-mark or peer-mark to give them more confidence practicing questions without you or another teacher marking it for them. Hopefully you find this useful! I kept referring back to these slides all year.

The quiz is a PowerPoint format and is ready to use straight away, no editing is needed. Answers are provided at the end of each round with animations. It can be used for any age, any business class and any size class. I did this in a tutoring session with 1 student and with a class of 10 students and it worked well both times. They really enjoyed it! It can be done over a whole lesson time of 45 minutes to 1 hour, especially if they are competing over a prize and peer-mark the answers. It’s nice not rushing through it if you have the time.
